Dual Station Expansion Valve Gas Leak Test System

We designed and built a manually-loaded helium tracer gas system to individually leak test refrigeration expansion valves. This system includes two independently-operated test stations, each utilizing a CTS TracerMate CS™ leak test instrument. Each test station features an integrated mass spectrometer and a vacuum chamber in which to conduct testing. Test data is communicated from the helium detection instrument and stored by part number in the TracerMate CS instrument’s internal data storage. Seal tooling on this test system provides versatility for sealing seven different valve assembly models. Valve assembly “shells” are tested to a sensitivity of 2.0 x 10-5 atm-cc/s, utilizing 100% helium at 150 psig.
