Four Station Sealed Sensor Leak Test Systems

CTS designed and built this 4-station volumetric fill pressure decay leak test system to test sealed electronic sensors. This manually loaded system features four fully-integrated Sentinel I28 test instruments. All stations function the same way, and the system was designed to operate on an asynchronous cycle to maximize part test throughput. Each part testing chamber consists of an upper and lower section, with custom-fit fixturing to seat parts during testing. The upper chamber is pneumatically lowered to secure the test part and to seal onto the lower chamber for the leak test. During the volumetric fill cycle, the system checks for gross leaks in the part. Parts that pass this fine leak test are indicated by a green “Accept” light on the I28 test instrument. The upper chamber then automatically retracts, allowing the operator to unload the part. Parts that fail the fine leak test are indicated with a red “Reject” light; operators must hit the “Reset” button to retract the upper chamber and remove rejected parts.
